Harry Ruda, Chairman, Desktone
Ruda has over 30 years of experience in the information and communications technology marketplace. He came to Desktone from Softricity, an application virtualization provider, which he co-founded as CEO in June 1999, before assuming the role of Chairman in March 2006. Prior to Softricity, Ruda was President and CEO of ITS, a manufacturer of video access equipment for IP and ATM networks. The company was acquired by Artel Video in March 1999 just prior to the first round of funding. Ruda also co-founded and served as VP of Sales and Marketing for a VC-backed start-up, Network Switching Systems, a manufacturer of integrated voice and data switching equipment. Peter McKay, Chief Executive Officer, Desktone
McKay is President and Chief Executive Officer of Desktone, and a member of the Desktone's Board of Directors. Before joining Desktone, Peter served as Executive In Residence at North Bridge Venture Partners in Waltham, MA and Insight Ventures in New York. He also directed and advised many venture and private equity backed firms, including Spotfire (sold to Tibco), Application Security Inc., SmartBear Software (formally Automated QA), Lagan Software, N of One, Sonian, Inc. and Apperian, Inc. Peter Bell, General Partner, Highland Capital Partners
Bell has worked with and invested in companies in the information security, e-commerce, data center infrastructure, enterprise software and communications industries. He represents Highland Capital Partners on the boards of Desktone, ExaGrid Systems and Ocarina Networks, SCVNGR, Virtual Computer and XORP and is actively involved in Highland's investment in NetentSec. Before joining Highland, he was Managing Director and founder of Stowe Capital, LLC, and earlier was Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of StorageNetworks. Bell began his career at EMC Corporation, holding positions in marketing, operations and sales. He currently serves on the board of directors of Healthbase and Prospectiv. He is also on the board of advisors of Personeta.
Ron Fisher, Managing Partner, SoftBank Capital
Fisher joined SoftBank in 1995, overseeing U.S. operations and other activities outside of Asia, and was the founder of SoftBank Capital. He is currently Vice Chairman of SoftBank Holdings, Inc. and serves as on the board of directors of SoftBank Corp., Japan. Fisher has over 30 years of experience of working with high-growth and turnaround technology companies. He was the CEO of Phoenix Technologies Ltd., and earlier was president, COO and then CEO of Interactive Systems Corporation, and held executive positions at Visicorp, TRW, and ICL (USA). He serves on the boards of several companies, including E*Trade Group, GSI Commerce, LiteScape Technologies and Nellymoser, Inc.
Jose Carreiro, former Managing Director of International, Citrix Systems
Carreiro has more than 25 years of international and domestic sales and marketing expertise. He is a veteran in establishing fast-impact, long-term strategic business relationships which enable rapid and profitable organizational growth. Most recently he was responsible for creating the marketing, sales and customer care groups for DayJet Corporation, and remains as an advisor. Previously he worked at Citrix Systems, where he launched and grew its international business unit from $2.5 million in revenue $82 million, opening subsidiaries across Europe, Asia, Australia and Japan. Carreiro was an advisor to XenSource and Watchfire, which were purchased by Citrix and IBM, respectively, and served on the boards of Softricity until its acquisition by Microsoft, and LogMeIn Corp., where he remains an advisor.
